I have used talk therapy for many years and have found it to be very effective but with certain limitations. In my experience, talk therapy alone tends to be a slower process for healing and change. My approach includes a variety of techniques such as Ericksonian hypnotherapy, EMDR and EFT. Each of these methods can deepen the psychotherapy experience and resolve long-standing emotional, relationship and career challenges much more quickly.
Ericksonian hypnosis and EMDR are methods that can reach and shift deep seated experiences of trauma that have occurred early in life and which are not easily accessed by talking alone. EFT is a tapping approach that an individual can perform on himself or herself to reduce anxiety and resolve other issues. These techniques access parts of memory and experiences that seem elusive and unreachable. I tailor the psychotherapy sessions to the needs and personality of each individual who seeks treatment. I have been incorporating these techniques for over 20 years and find them to be highly effective.
Since 1999, I have been teaching classes in Ericksonian hypnosis at the Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis (NYSEPH). As an Approved Consultant by ASCH, the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis, I also supervise students who are studying hypnosis or who have completed the course at NYSEPH. My goal is to help psychotherapists integrate hypnosis into their clinical work so that their patients can have an even deeper experience of self-discovery and healing.
In addition, I am certified in EMDR for levels 1 and 2. I have found that EMDR, along with hypnosis and EFT, are extremely helpful techniques in accessing very early experiences, which have impacted a person’s life in ways that have been hidden from awareness. I believe that these are the many techniques that can be used help people move forward and reach their goals in life
